The purpose of this web site is to help Steelworkers learn quickly about upcoming classes so that they can take advantage of their educational opportunities. NEW LEARNING CENTER CLASS EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN
If you are interested in the Emergency Medical field this class is for you. Upon completion of the program and passing State and/or National examinations you will receive a certificate and may have the opportunity to work in the following fields.
Fire Rescue
Ambulance service
Hospital Emergency Room
Plant Protection, inside the USS Granite City Works
This is a 160 hour program. This program will prepare you to take the State and National exam. All books and materials will be supplied. This class will be held at the Learning Center. The classes will run for 32 weeks 5 hours each class. Classes are scheduled to start Monday May 24, 2010 and will end Monday December 27, 2010. Register now for this class.
Due to the length of the program those who sign up for this need to consider and be able to devote the time.

LAID-OFF STEELWORKERS
Any Steelworker who completed his or her probationary hours and was laid-off recently can still use their tuition assistance as well as attend classes at the Learning Center. Please contact the Learning Center to find out more about your educational benefits.
